One of the most basic treatments that we offer our patients here at Dr. Lenny Slepchik’s office is a dental bridge. Dental bridges are designed to help patients bridge the gap between a missing tooth or several missing teeth. As a single piece prosthetic, a dental bridge has two crowns that serve as anchors; these crowns can  be placed on top of your  teeth. To help you learn more about dental bridges, read below.

Do You Need a Dental Bridge?

If you have a missing tooth, you may assume that it’s optional for you to replace it. Actually, It’s really not. Although you always have a choice, leaving a gap there can cause a variety of additional serious dental problems.  This includes shifting teeth and an eroded jaw bone underneath the gap in your teeth. To help prevent either of these things from happening, and to ensure that you always look and feel confident , dental bridges are a must.

Why Get a Dental Bridge?

With missing teeth, it is highly likely that your remaining teeth will start shifting. There are other reasons as well as to why you may choose  a dental bridge.

Below is a list of the advantages of a dental bridge:

  • Complete your smile
  • Prevent tooth movement
  • Restore chewing and biting in the area
  • Distribute your bite across various teeth
  • Restore your ability to speak clearly
  • Maintain jawbone health

If you are missing a tooth, we suggest coming to our office for a consultation. During your consultation, we will take a closer look at your mouth and help determine what is the best option for you.
