I Am Terrified To Go the Dentist ! Will Nitrous Oxide Help Me? I have not been for a very long time !

Dr. Lenny Slepchik has been helping his many nervous and terrified patients for a long time by offering nitrous oxide as an aide to help them relax during their dental appointment.   His downtown Montreal practice has a great deal of experience in helping very nervous patients begin to look after their dental health.  By not coming to see a dentist because you are afraid, you are jeopardizing your overall general health.  We understand it may be extremely hard to get yourself here, but we are ready to slowly work with you and help you in your dental journey.

  • Be honest.  Tell us about any previous dental experiences that you found difficult.   Communication is essential.  Knowing what to expect beforehand can also help alleviate some fear.
  • Remember that the nitrous oxide works quickly, and you feel the effects almost immediately.  You will feel relaxed but  remain aware throughout your visit. Additionally, you will  be able to talk  and respond to Dr. Lenny Slepchik while using nitrous oxide.
  • Take a few deep breaths before beginning the nitrous oxide treatment. This may help calm you and reduce anxiety regarding the upcoming procedure. Once the nitrous oxide is being administered through the nose with the mask, take several deep breaths through your nose to inhale the gas and begin to feel its effects.
  • Be sure to tell us if you are feeling any pain or any discomfort during the appointment.  Nitrous oxide sedation can help reduce pain, but you need to tell Dr. Slepchik of any issues or discomfort you may be experiencing.  This will allow him to make any necessary adjustments during your dental appointment .
