What Is a Smile Makeover?
- Posted on: Nov 15 2018
We offer patients a cosmetic procedure called a Smile Makeover if you are interested in changing the appearance of your smile. With today’s dentistry, there is no reason to feel uncomfortable with your smile. Let’s take a closer look at this cosmetic procedure.
What Does It Involve?
Typically, Dr. Slepchik will use either dental crowns or dental veneers to help give patients a whiter, brighter, straighter, and better-looking smile overall. During your initial consultation with him, he will take x-rays of your mouth as well as photos; he will then examine your teeth, facial structure etc to see what kind of restorative procedures he thinks will give you the best results. Your occlusion needs to be checked as well. We will also take a series of digital impressions. Most important, you need to tell him what you are looking for in this smile makeover, so that you will be happy with the end result. He will review all the information he has gathered and then propose his treatment plan. Your smile makeover may include any or some or all of the following procedures;
- Dental Crowns: Dental crowns are used as a type of cap that’s placed over your existing tooth to give off of a better appearance. Additionally, crowns can be used to prevent chips or cracks from worsening. The only drawback with dental crowns is that they may not be as permanent as you would like.
- Dental Veneers: Dental veneers involve filing down your existing teeth and then placing thin, porcelain shells (veneers) over the top to give you a brand new looking smile.
What Can It Do?
A smile makeover cannot only help you improve the shape, size, and colour of your teeth but it can also help to improve the appearance of dental problems like cracked, chipped, or misaligned teeth. Additionally, a smile makeover can help you increase your self-esteem so that you feel more confident about your smile.
As you can see, a smile makeover can do a variety of things for your oral health and appearance. If you want to learn more about this procedure, schedule a consultation with us at our downtown Montreal office and contact us at 514-875-7971 or by email at [email protected]
