Many patients who make the decision to improve the appearance of their smile might be unsure where to start. What treatments are best for their unique situation? What services will be affordable? Will the final result look natural or appear as though extensive work was done? Dr. Slepchik will review your options with you, discussing the various dental solutions and which option works best for you. He will prepare a treatment plan for you to get your mouth healthy,  building on this foundation to improve the look of your smile. Patients who visit his practice asking about these concerns may find that porcelain veneers are the right for their needs.

What is a porcelain veneer?

A porcelain veneer is a restoration that looks like a thin shell of ceramic. It is bonded onto the front of a tooth to change the appearance of the tooth, disguising common imperfections such as:

  • Unusually short or unsharpened teeth
  • Permanently stained enamel
  • Gaps and spaces between the front teeth
  • Chipped and cracked teeth
  • Misaligned/crooked teeth

The porcelain veneer is custom-made for you based on the colour of their existing teeth. The veneer is also made to certain specifications including the size and shape to ensure that its appearance blends in to your other teeth.. The goal of cosmetic dentistry is to focus on offering a solution that addresses the concern while blending in seamlessly within the smile. Dr. Lenny Slepchik understands how important this is.

What can I expect when I Choose a porcelain veneer?

The process of obtaining a veneer takes some time. First, patients consult with Dr. Lenny Slepchik to determine if porcelain veneers will address their unique situation. At your first appointment, Dr. Slepchik will prepare the tooth to receive the veneer, during which some of the natural tooth enamel on the front of the tooth is filed down. Impressions are taken with Itero which are  directly connected to our dental lab;  he will use these impressions along with Dr. Slepchik’s notes to create the final veneer in the lab. you will  return in two weeks  lto have the final veneer bonded in place. Patients find that when they properly care for their veneers, they can enjoy them for a decade or longer!
