Using porcelain veneers to enhance the smile
While there are many cosmetic treatments available today that improve the appearance of the smile, one of the most popular choices is porcelain veneers. Dental veneers are made of porcelain customized to the patient’s smile. They are bonded over the front of the teeth to cover common imperfections including:
- Broken/chipped teeth
- Permanently stained teeth
- Unusually shaped teeth
- Crooked/misaligned teeth
- Short or worn teeth
During an evaluation, Dr. Lenny Slepchik will determine if a patient is a good candidate for veneers, and discuss with you their benefits.
Why Would patients choose porcelain veneers for their smiles?
Porcelain veneers have several advantages that make them a wonderful option for anyone seeking either a subtle improvement or transformation in their smile.
Some benefits of porcelain veneers include:
- Long-lasting with proper care; our experience has been 15 years or more; some closer to 20 depending on our patient following their regimen of home care (brushing and flossing etc)
- Durability and strength
- Natural appearance
- Ease of care
- An affordable enhancement
What is the process of Getting dental veneers?
Patients start with a consultation appointment to determine if they are good candidates for this dental treatment. We encourage you to have a dental cleaning and examination appointment with our hygienist so that the esthetic component is placed on a healthy foundation. The preparation appointment involves Dr. Slepchik filing down the enamel on the front of the tooth. Impressions are taken digitally with Itero and sent directly to our laboratory for the veneer(s) to be created by the experienced ceramicist. Once completed, patients return to our dental office to have their final veneer(s) bonded. They leave their second appointment with a brand new beautiful smile!
